GREENHOUSE EFFECT DISCREDITED

Professor Nasif Nahle found something deeply troubling about the man-made global warming theory (AGW). He explains, “I started out wanting to debunk those deniers of science.”

Nahle had originally believed that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) were warming the atmosphere until he found an incorrect assumption within the greenhouse effect hypothesis.
Invited to attend a televised debate on the Indonesian Tsunami that addressed whether global warming was a factor in that catastrophe, Nahle checked the validity of calculations relating to the combined reactions of certain atmospheric gases to solar radiation in the so-called greenhouse effect. “That was when I saw it was junk science.”

Gods Ten Laws

Summary of the Ten Commandments

The question is often asked, does the Law apply today? Many modern churches teach us to ignore the law. Man of the Reformation taught us to obey the law.

The British Parliament asked the men of the Reformation to write a doctrine of what the Bible teaches.

This would be great Biblical information to teach children in Sunday School or VBS Vacation Bible School. Several years later they came back with a document that we know as the Westminster Confession of Faith. They spent parts of two chapters explain the Bible perspective that we should obey and apply the law today.  The summary of them is to obey them.

Ten Commandments

Welcome to GodsTenLaws.com!

This site is provided as a resource for information about the Ten Commandments of God (decalogue) from the Bible as given to Moses for the Nation of Israel. Our purpose is to emphasize the value of God's law in revealing the love of Jesus Christ for humanity in every age.

There is much conflict in North American culture today as to the appropriateness of posting the Ten Commandments in public places, their relevancy to laws and policies, and even their place in the church.

We hope the information provided here will provide a greater understanding of the Ten Commandments and their purpose in our lives, church, and government.

LEARN, UNDERSTAND, APPLY... THE TEN COMMANDMENTS!

You will notice in the drop down menu that some of the sections are listed in numerical order. To understand the context in which this material is presented it is recommended that you follow the sequence as you would chapters in a book.

"Never in the history of the world has there been ten rules that have caused such a disturbance in the conscience of a people as to affect a society, church, and government as do the Ten Commandments." - Founder, GodstenLaws.com

We pray your visit here will be a blessing and provide you with a deeper understanding of the Love of Jesus Christ.

Insights & Bible Stories Related to Each
of the Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments were originally about a covenant of love for Israel (Neh. 1:5) and it governed their relationships (see purpose section).

When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, He answered by stating that all the laws are rooted in two:

Love the Lord with all your heart
Love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:36-40).
We were created for relationship with God and one another. The Ten Commandments are divided accordingly.

This section provides insight into each of the Ten Commandments and a Bible story to illustrate each. The following information is not exhaustive, nor does in necessarily address the specific meaning of the Ten Commandments in our present age (new covenant). For details on how and why the Ten Commandments were transformed see the Law & Grace section.

Abel: A Lesson in Faith

Abel: A Primitive Faith

Hebrews 11:4             John MacArthur        Grace to You

We're going to return to our look at Hebrews chapter 11...Hebrews chapter 11, as we have...embarked upon the study of the power of faith, a very foundational study in every sense. In fact, this chapter was written originally under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to help some people who perhaps did not fully understand salvation by faith to understand it better. It was written to some Jews who constituted a congregation somewhere in Israel. They had come to faith in Christ but perhaps didn't fully understand the reality of faith and the role that has always played in salvation. And then, of course, the congregation also had some people there who were a part of the congregation, hanging on the edges who had not yet embraced Christ fully, were still trying to consider this matter of salvation by faith.

The reason that was such a dramatic change for them was because Jewish people had been raised, literally, for centuries in a perversion of Old Testament Judaism, a system of religion that taught them that salvation came to those who earned it...who earned it. And so it's important for them to realize that salvation is by faith alone, not by works, “For by grace are you saved through faith, that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God not of works lest any man should boast,” Ephesians 2:8 and 9 says.
So chapter 10 ends with a quote, famous quote from the Old Testament, “The just shall live by faith,” or “My righteous ones shall live by faith,” verse 38. We then, verse 39 says, are not of those who shrink back to destruction. We don't come all the way to the edge of this understanding of the gospel and salvation by faith, and then feel the pull of Judaism and legalism and fall back into destruction, but rather we persevere in faith to the salvation of the soul.

So clearly the writer of Hebrews has told us that the New Covenant which is the Covenant of salvation, presents salvation by faith and not by works, and he's now going to illustrate that in chapter 11. And the first illustration, after a definition that we looked at last week, the first illustration comes in verse 4 and it is Abel. Look at verse 4, I'll read it to you, “By faith, Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous. God testifying about his gifts, or receiving his gifts, his sacrifice and through faith though he is dead, he still speaks.”
Here we meet the first man who came to God by faith. This is the man who is called Abel.
