Earthquake Rapture: A Pattern in Prophecy?

by David Lowe

Introduction

There has always been much speculation as to what will happen when the catching away of the church, or the rapture, takes place on the earth. I remember watching a movie called "A Thief in the Night" way back in the 1970's, when I was still an impressionable youngster. It made me fear the event, not look and hope for it as we should. In that movie, I recall that people were going about their lives, and all the sudden they just disappeared, leaving behind irons still on, water running, cars driving down the road without a driver any longer. Those left behind went about, searching frantically for their missing mother, father, brother, sister, only to realize they had been caught away in the rapture, and they were left behind on the earth to endure the tribulation.

Another more recent movie with big-name stars was, of course, Left Behind. There was a similar depiction of the moment after the rapture with airplanes left without a pilot, a pile-up of cars in wrecks with mothers looking for their missing infants, piles of clothes left sitting on seats in an airplane, and those left behind wondering what happened. These movies base these type of scenes on basically one passage of scripture, which it turns out isn't even referring to the rapture:

Christianity Explained

Find out about what Christianity is all about.

You may be surprised.

You know, I often talk to people who have very little knowledge of what the Bible says about how we can have a personal relationship with God. Clicking on the link above may help you as you read in comic form the simple truth about how you can be sure of your eternal destiny after you pass away.

Many people are also troubled by the earthquakes and violence in the world today that point to the end times. The Bible has foretold these things to come and warns us to be ready for any one of us is only a heart beat away from judgement.

The End Times According to Jesus

The End Times According to Jesus.....Part 4 (Why Didn't The Lord Mention The Rapture?) Ikvot ha'Mashiach A Bible Study by Jack Kelley www.gracethrufaith.com   In 51 AD, almost 20 years after the Resurrection, the Apostle Paul became the first to reveal the incredible secret that would become known as the Rapture of the Church. He did this in his earliest written communication, his first letter to the Thessalonians (1 Thes. 4:16-17), repeating it four years later in a letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor. 15:51). In doing so, Paul finally identified the group mentioned in Matt. 24:31 who would be in Heaven waiting to return with the Lord at his 2nd coming.

Are You Aware the Rapture is Imminent?

Our sins have nothing to do with Catastrophic Man Made Carbon Dioxide CO2 Global Warming by using electricity and fossil fuels. Although there remains some believers in this CAGW faith, they are none the less ill advised to neglect the Creator in their worship of His Creation. Our sin is in fact rejecting God's Son, Jesus Christ. Accept Jesus as your Saviour today and you will escape God's wrath planned for this planet. Remember, never accept the Mark of the Beast. NO MATTER WHAT!!
